How is envy a guy

While in Briggs , Envy is lured into a trap by Zampano pretending to sell out Marcoh. During the resulting fight, Envy enters their unleashed state in a fit of rage, grabbing Marcoh and revealing that his men were sacrificed to create the Philosopher's Stone they gave to Kimblee. This proves to be their undoing, as Marcoh succeeds in destroying most of the souls in Envy's Philosopher's Stone, reducing the Homunculus into a small, weakened version of their true form.

After an unsuccessful attempt to hold Yoki hostage, Envy is placed in a jar and given to May to take back to Xing. However, Envy plays on May's guilt of leaving her new friends to fend for themselves in order to have her bring them back to Central to obtain a new Philosopher's Stone.

As the Day of Reckoning commences, Envy manages to take control of one of the activated Mannequin Soldiers attacking May, using it to assimilate the others nearby to regain their full form. From there, Envy chases down May before crashing through the entrance of the Third Laboratory.

There, seeing former enemies working together, Envy reveals themselves as Hughes' murderer by transforming once again into Gracia when Mustang refused to believe that his friend's life was taken by a "moron. Finding Lt. Riza Hawkeye, Envy assumes Mustang's form and tries to kill her, but is quickly found out and shot repeatedly with her many weapons.

Although Envy does manage to catch hold of her, Mustang arrives and continues the destruction of Envy's new body until they are reduced back to their parasitic form once again. Envy is saved from execution by Mustang's hands through the combined intervention from Riza, Scar, and Edward in order to cease Mustang's quest for vengeance. After unsuccessfully trying to tempt the group into fighting each other with every horrible thing they have done to the other, Envy is mortified by how former enemies can put aside their hatred and work together.

At that moment, Edward reveals to Envy that the homunculus is, in fact, jealous of human friendships and their ability to support each other. Realizing this truth, and feeling utterly disgraced by it and the fact that Edward sympathized with them, a tearful Envy pulls out their Philosopher's Stone and crushes it. As their decaying body begins to disintegrate, Envy laments not seeing where this ceasefire among former enemies would lead while they whisper, "Goodbye, Edward Elric," with tears in their eyes.

Envy is the third Homunculus to die permanently though by their own hand in the manga and the anime. Fullmetal Alchemist Wiki Explore. Manga Volumes and Chapters. Wikitext Guide Stubs. Universal Conquest Wiki. You have no idea how good that felt! I ravaged their entire country with a single bullet! I mean talk about invigorating! Oh, and the best part? The officer I pretended to be, he was always a moderate who would always publicly oppose the military's occupation of Ishval.

But now we're wondering how he can drive a car without crushing it Once again, Envy is rather like another homunculus: Wrath. Envy is a vicious bully, and he loves to torment others in all kinds of ways. This even includes psychological warfare, such as when he assumed Gracia Hughes' form pictured to assassinate Maes Hughes.

Envy was also pretty rough when he and Lust met Ed in Lab 5, and Envy had fun killing off the armored brothers there, despite Ed's protests. In his final battle, Envy swore that he would "repay" Roy, Ed, and the others for his defeat up north, and we can't even imagine the kind of torture he had in mind. The homunculi in Fullmetal Alchemist have all kinds of real-world tie-ins, and allusions to classic art and literature, such as Dante's The Divine Comedy.

This includes the seven deadly sins, such as Envy and covetousness. In this case, in Dante's poem, the envious had their eyes sewn shut in punishment, so they could lo longer look upon other people and things to covet. Meanwhile, Envy the homunculus suffered repeated attacks to the eyeballs while fighting Roy Mustang. While Envy is a capable fighter and he has the inherent regeneration of all homunculi, he tends to get pretty sloppy.

Envy has arrogant pride to rival, well, Pride's, but he can't back it up as well. More than once, Envy loses a fight that he might have won if he took his opponents more seriously and recognized their potential. For example, he was helpless when fighting May and Edward up north, and he fell for May's alkahestry circles under the snow.

What is interesting about the seven homunculus siblings is that while they are all distinct entities, they are ultimately one and the same, the same failing of the human spirit. Envy, therefore, shares some traits with the others, such as Greed. This is only natural, since the only reason a person will envy another's possessions or status is because they greedily want it all for themselves.

Similarly, we could say that Greed the homunculus envied Alphonse's immortal armor body. The true power behind his swords are his swordsmanship, superhuman strength and incredible speed. Everything King Bradley uses to fight with is really just ordinary weapons. Pride is defeated by the main protagonist, Edward Elric Ed. With his adaptable shapechanging shadows that have high speed, durability, and cutting power, Pride is the strongest.

The Ultimate Eye is quite overpowered.
